As we approach the mid-season mark of hockey, we want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of fostering a positive and supportive environment for our players. The role of parents at games is vital, not only in supporting the team but also in setting a great example for our young athletes.
We ask that all parents adhere to the following guidelines while attending games:
-
Respect for Coaches and Officials: Coaches and referees are working hard to ensure a safe and fair game for all. We ask that you support their decisions, even if you disagree. Remember, their role is crucial to the players’ development and the game’s integrity.
-
Positive Encouragement: We encourage cheering and supporting the players in a positive manner. Our athletes thrive on encouragement, and your positive energy helps boost their confidence and enjoyment of the game.
-
Sportsmanship: Show respect to opposing teams, coaches, and parents. Hockey is a competitive sport, but it should always be played in the spirit of sportsmanship. Let's be role models for our children and demonstrate respect and fairness both on and off the ice.
-
Sideline Behavior: Please remain in the designated spectator areas. Coaches and players need to focus on the game without distractions from the sidelines. Avoid coaching from the stands, as it can be confusing for players and undermines the coaching staff.
-
Handling Disagreements: If you have any concerns or feedback, please direct them to the coaching staff or team manager at an appropriate time, not during or immediately after a game. We encourage open communication, but it’s important to address concerns in a respectful and constructive manner.
Our goal is to create an environment where every player can enjoy the game, grow in their skills, and develop a lifelong love of hockey. Your support and cooperation are essential to making this happen.
Thank you for being a strong Devils supporter and an important part of our Devils family!
