Devils 3v3 Half Ice - It's not just for Mites anymore! Divisions for Mites (8U), Squirts (10U), Pee Wees (12U) and Bantams (14U). Open to all players, not just Devils! Goalies are FREE! No checking at any level, including Bantam.
There is no better bang for your buck than 3v3 hockey.
The smaller ice surface forces players to be constantly involved in the play and make quick decisions with the puck. USA Hockey concluded that one 50-minute small area game was the equivalent to 11 full ice games, in terms of puck touches per player.
Based on a study done by USA Hockey and the NHL, it was concluded that the smaller ice produces:
- 2x more body contact and puck battles
- 6x more shot attempts
- 2x more pass attempts
- 5x more passes received per player
- 2x more changes of directions
- Goalies face twice as many shots
