Just wanted to let you know that you may have, or will see, that your team has been entered into the State Playdown Tournament. As you may remember this is a one game elimination format where your team will be scheduled to play another District 5 team. These are generally scheduled without too much advanced notice, and often mid-week. You will be playing for the District 5 Championship. I do not know at this time how many games need to be played to earn that title.
In early March the District winners typically will meet to compete for the State Championship Title. We do not know what the State Tournament will look like this year, however, MASS Hockey has decided to start the process with the scheduling of the playdown games.
The cost of the playdowns is covered by Devils Hockey. We only ask for you to make every effort to attend and WIN!!! The DEVILS can DO IT! Last year several of our teams advanced to the State Tournament and our Squirt Tier 3 Team WON the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! The experience is always a great memory for our players.
Please let your coach know right away if you are unable to participate. Please also plan to CHECK IN with District registrars upon arrival at the rink,
