The Devils continue to bring home the championship hardware!

Squirt Black finished 3-1 in pool play in the Warwick Junior Hockey Association Thanksgiving Tournament.  After shutting out the Franklin Flyers 4-0 in the opener, Squirt Black followed up by defeating the Tri-County Saints 5-1.  In game 3, the Devils went up against bitter rivals the Providence Bears and fell 3-0.  With a playoff spot on the line, Squirt Black defeated East Haven 8-3 to lock up the number 2 seed in Pool B and qualify for the tournament semi-finals.

Their first opponent was the number 1 seed in Pool A, the Greater New York Stars.  The Devils dominated 6-2 to lock up a spot in the finals to set up a rematch against the vaunted Providence Bears.  Having only beaten the Bears once in four tries so far this season (the Bears only loss in league play after the parity round), the underdog Devils stepped up their game beating the Bears 4-3 to claim the championship!

Pee Wee Black finished 2-1 in pool play in the Foxboro Goblet Tournament.  After defeating a strong Medfield Lyons team 3-2 in the opener, the Devils faced you guessed it, those pesky Providence Bears.  While the Devils fell 4-1, the score wasn’t indicative of how close this game was.  Needing a victory to secure a semi-final berth, Pee Wee Black struggled out of the gate going down 1-0 early, but reeled off 6 unanswered goals to earn their spot in the playoffs.

Due to a log jam in the standings, the Devils earned a number 1 seed in the playoffs in a tiebreaker.  First up in the semis was the number 4 seed, another Medfield team, the Warriors.  The Devils moved on top quickly and never looked back, winning 10-1.  Next up, again, you guessed it, the nemesis Bears.

After some Bears trash talk before the game and a pregame speech by Team Motivational Speaker Olivia Short, the Devils were fired up for this one.  After being down 2-1 and 3-2, Pee Wee Black kept battling and scored the last 4 goals to finish off the Bears 6-3 and bring home the championship.

Great job boys!
