Many live with their children in homes supported by New ...The DEVILS HOCKEY Program is sponsoring a holiday collection drive on Saturday, December 17 th 8:30am - 4:30pm at the New England Sports Village! The drive will benefit the local New Hope Organization., a support service group to victims of sexual / domestic violence. Many live with their children in homes supported by New Hope.
When coming to the rink for your game on Saturday, December 17 th , please consider bringing a donation.
Volunteers will be onsite to collect your donations.
Your contribution will go a long way to help those in need for the Holidays and as always is very much appreciated.
Below is a list of suggested items.
Gift Cards
These serve as an empowerment tool for clients working toward self sufficiency after violence. They can always use gift cards to:
- Grocery Stores (Stop & Shop, Shaw’s, BJ’s)
- Pharmacies (CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens)
- Retail Stores (Target, Walmart)
- Craft Stores (Jo-Ann’s Fabric, Michael’s)
- Gas Stations
For Children – If wrapped please write Male/Female and Age on outside
Specifically Boys age 13,8,4,2,and 1
Specifically Girls age 16, 12, 9, 5, 4, 11 months
- Diapers (especially sizes 3-6) Pull-Ups & Baby Wipes
- Small, easy to travel with toys that have no multiple parts, pieces or choking hazards
- Culturally and ethnically diverse dolls & story books
- New stuffed animals
- Art/School supplies (crayons, markers, construction paper, pencils, pens, notebooks etc.)
- Art canvases (white canvases for children to paint on)
- Children’s toothpaste and toothbrushes
- A Wrapped gift for a child of any age – please note Male/Female and age on outside of gift.
For Adults
- New twin-size bedding (sheet sets, blankets, pillows, comforters)
- New bath towels and washcloths
- Paper goods (tissues, paper towels, paper napkins, toilet paper)
- Feminine products (sanitary napkins, tampons, hair brushes, makeup, deodorant, hair conditioner, lotion, liquid body wash)
- Dish washing liquid, dishwasher detergent, sponges
- Household cleaners (all purpose spray cleaners, bleach spray, sink/toilet cleaner, floor cleaner, disinfectant wipes)
- Laundry detergent
- Swiffer Wet Jet refills and Swiffer dry cloths
- Ziploc bags, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, plastic utensils, paper plates
- Trash bags (13 gallon size)
- Baby monitors
- Shower curtains
- Crib sheets
- Pots and pans/kitchen utensils/can opener/misc. kitchen supplies

New Hope provides supportive services to victims of sexual/domestic violence. Our mission is to end sexual/domestic violence in our communities. New Hope services include: a 24/7 hotline, 2 emergency shelters, individual and group counseling, advocacy services, intimate partner abuse education, supervised visitation and primary prevention education. All of our services, except for the intimate partner abuse and supervised visitation, are free of charge.
New Hope serves any survivor of sexual/domestic violence, regardless of race, age, gender, sexual orientation, or ability. In fiscal year 2016, we served 10,849 adults, and 3,616 children, with 80% of our clients identifying as female. Over 70% of these clients have incomes below the federal poverty threshold. Additionally, many of our staff, volunteers and board come to this work having their own histories of domestic and sexual violence.
